Heat pump servicing in Huyton: what to expect
Whoever installed your heat pump, aftercare can be arranged in Huyton. Tell us the make and model and roughly how old it is, and we will set out what the visit involves before you book.
If a heat pump in Huyton has not been serviced for a while, the first visit includes a full check of settings and pressures. Landlords in Huyton can arrange servicing for several properties, with a dated record for each.
An annual service keeps a heat pump running efficiently, catches small faults early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Heat pumps a year or more past installation
- Homes where running costs have crept up or rooms feel cooler than before
- Systems where the manufacturer's warranty requires annual servicing
What's included
- Expansion vessel, pressure relief and water quality checks
- Glycol or antifreeze protection test where fitted
- Refrigerant circuit checks on split systems by an F-gas certified engineer
- Cleaning of the outdoor unit coil, fan area and condensate drain
- Controls and error log check, with settings adjusted where needed
We service heat pumps in Huyton whoever installed them, including monobloc and split systems.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in England
In England the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (£9,000 if it replaces oil or LPG, from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027), and since 28 April 2026 a valid EPC is no longer needed. The grant is applied for by the MCS-certified installer and shown as a deduction on your Huyton quote.

Heat pump servicing in Huyton: questions
Can you work on a heat pump in Huyton that someone else installed?
Yes. We arrange servicing and repairs for most air source heat pumps in Huyton, whoever fitted them. Tell us the make and model when you get in touch.
Will the engineer need access indoors as well as outside?
Usually yes. The outdoor unit, the hot water cylinder, the controls and the pipework and valves indoors are all part of the visit, so allow access to each.
What should I check before booking a visit in Huyton?
Note any error code on the controller, check the system pressure gauge if you have one, and make sure the outdoor unit is clear of leaves or snow. Photos of the unit and controller help.
Is servicing needed to keep my warranty valid?
Often, yes. Many manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a dated record, and some extended warranties require an approved installer. Manufacturer warranties pass to you, and the length depends on the make and model. Check your warranty documents, and keep every service record safe with your MCS certificate and handover pack.
What does a heat pump service not include?
A service covers inspection, cleaning, testing and adjustment. It does not include replacement parts, major repairs, system flushing or radiator changes, which are quoted separately if needed. If the engineer finds a fault, they explain what it is, what it would cost to fix and whether it needs doing now or can wait.
