Heat pump servicing in Nottinghamshire

We arrange air source heat pumps for homes throughout Nottinghamshire, from the first heat loss survey to commissioning and annual servicing.

We service systems installed through us and systems fitted by other companies, including monobloc and split units. If your heat pump was installed by someone else, tell us the make, model and age when you book so the engineer brings the right parts and information. Refrigerant work on split systems must be done by an F-gas certified engineer.

If a heat pump in Nottinghamshire has not been serviced for a while, the first visit includes a full check of settings and pressures. Heat pumps in Nottinghamshire that sit near trees or hedges often need their outdoor coil cleared of leaves at the annual service. Landlords in Nottinghamshire can arrange servicing for several properties, with a dated record for each.

Who it suits

  • Heat pumps installed by another company that need a new servicing arrangement
  • Heat pumps a year or more past installation
  • Systems where the manufacturer's warranty requires annual servicing
  • Landlords who need dated service records for each property

Heat pump servicing questions

Can you service a split system?

Yes. Split systems have refrigerant pipes running between the outdoor unit and an indoor unit, and checks on that refrigerant circuit must be done by an F-gas certified engineer. We arrange the service so a suitably certified engineer attends. The water side, controls and cylinder are checked in the same visit, just as on a monobloc system.

How much does a heat pump service cost?

An annual heat pump service has a guide price of £120–£250, including VAT. Where your price sits depends on the type of system, whether it is a split system needing refrigerant checks and whether an unvented cylinder is included. Any parts or repairs found during the service are explained and priced before any work goes ahead.

Is servicing needed to keep my warranty valid?

Often, yes. Many manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a dated record, and some extended warranties require an approved installer. Manufacturer warranties pass to you, and the length depends on the make and model. Check your warranty documents, and keep every service record safe with your MCS certificate and handover pack.

Do I need to do anything between services?

A little. Keep the area around the outdoor unit clear of leaves, snow, plants and stored items so air flows freely. Check the system pressure gauge occasionally if you have one, and note any error codes. Avoid covering the unit or building an enclosure around it without advice, as this can reduce performance.
