What to know about heat pump servicing in Glastonbury
A heat pump that is serviced and set up properly keeps running efficiently for many years. Many heat pump faults trace back to settings, low pressure or a worn part rather than the heat pump itself, and those can usually be put right.
We service heat pumps in Glastonbury whoever installed them, including monobloc and split systems. Landlords in Glastonbury can arrange servicing for several properties, with a dated record for each.
An annual service keeps a heat pump running efficiently, catches small faults early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Systems where the manufacturer's warranty requires annual servicing
- Landlords who need dated service records for each property
- Heat pumps installed by another company that need a new servicing arrangement
What's included
- Magnetic filter and strainer clean, with system pressure topped up
- A dated service record for your warranty and property files
- Expansion vessel, pressure relief and water quality checks
- Glycol or antifreeze protection test where fitted
- Unvented cylinder safety checks and legionella cycle check
Homes in Glastonbury and across Somerset can book servicing at a time of year that suits them, ideally before winter.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in England
Homes in Glastonbury can use the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which takes £7,500 off the cost of an air source heat pump when it replaces fossil-fuel or electric heating. Replacing oil or LPG heating qualifies for £9,000 for installations from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027, and air-to-air systems for £2,500. The MCS-certified installer named in your quote applies for the grant and deducts it from the price.

Heat pump servicing in Glastonbury: questions
What should I check before booking a visit in Glastonbury?
Note any error code on the controller, check the system pressure gauge if you have one, and make sure the outdoor unit is clear of leaves or snow. Photos of the unit and controller help.
How much does a visit cost in Glastonbury?
The rate for a service or fault-finding visit is agreed before anyone attends. Any repair is priced in writing before parts are ordered, so you decide before work goes ahead.
Will the engineer need access indoors as well as outside?
Usually yes. The outdoor unit, the hot water cylinder, the controls and the pipework and valves indoors are all part of the visit, so allow access to each.
Is servicing needed to keep my warranty valid?
Often, yes. Many manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a dated record, and some extended warranties require an approved installer. Manufacturer warranties pass to you, and the length depends on the make and model. Check your warranty documents, and keep every service record safe with your MCS certificate and handover pack.
How much does a heat pump service cost?
An annual heat pump service has a guide price of £120–£250, including VAT. Where your price sits depends on the type of system, whether it is a split system needing refrigerant checks and whether an unvented cylinder is included. Any parts or repairs found during the service are explained and priced before any work goes ahead.
