Before you book: heat pump radiator upgrades in Deal
Homes around Deal range from older terraces to newer estates, and each needs a different design. That is why we survey before we quote.
Radiator fitting in Deal is scheduled with your heat pump installation so the system is drained only once. Many older houses in Deal still have their original single-panel radiators, so the survey checks each one against the room it heats.
We size each radiator to your room-by-room heat loss so a heat pump can heat your home at a low, efficient flow temperature.
- Extensions and loft conversions with large areas of glazing
- Homes switching from a gas, oil or LPG boiler to a heat pump
- Homeowners who want the lowest practical flow temperature for efficiency
What's included
- A radiator schedule showing which radiators stay, which change and their outputs
- Room-by-room heat loss figures for every heated room
- Balancing every radiator so each room heats evenly
- Making good around brackets and pipe routes, with any decorating agreed in your quote
- Draining, refilling, cleaning and inhibitor treatment of the heating system
Extensions and kitchen-diners around Deal with large glazed areas get their own radiator calculation.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in England
Homes in Deal can use the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which takes £7,500 off the cost of an air source heat pump when it replaces fossil-fuel or electric heating. Replacing oil or LPG heating qualifies for £9,000 for installations from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027, and air-to-air systems for £2,500. The MCS-certified installer named in your quote applies for the grant and deducts it from the price.
Installing heat pumps is zero-rated for VAT across the UK until 31 March 2027. Since 29 May 2025, permitted development in England allows up to two air source heat pumps on a house, each up to 1.5 m³, with no blanket 1 m boundary rule — the installation must still meet the MCS planning standards, including the noise check. Listed buildings, flats and some conservation-area positions need extra consent, which we check at survey.

How long is the heating season in Deal?
On the shortest day Deal gets about 7 hours 52 minutes of daylight, and the winter sun reaches only around 15° above the horizon at noon. Winters this far south are milder than in most of the UK, which helps a heat pump run at low flow temperatures for much of the season.

Heat pump radiator upgrades in Deal: questions
Can you service a heat pump in Deal that someone else installed?
Yes. We arrange servicing and repairs for most air source heat pumps in Deal, whoever fitted them. Tell us the make and model when you book.
What size heat pump does a Deal home need?
It depends on the heat loss, not the postcode. As a rough guide, a 3 bedroom semi often needs 6–9 kW, but the room-by-room survey sets the actual size for your Deal home.
How long does a heat pump survey take in Deal?
A home survey in Deal usually takes one to two hours. The surveyor measures every heated room, checks windows, walls and radiators, and looks at where the outdoor unit and cylinder can go.
Do I need new radiators for a heat pump?
Not necessarily: many homes keep most of their radiators and replace only a few. The heat loss survey checks each room against its existing radiator at the planned flow temperature. Rooms with large windows, high ceilings or extensions are the usual candidates for an upgrade, while bedrooms often need no change. Your radiator schedule lists every decision.
How much does a heat pump radiator cost?
A replacement radiator sized for a heat pump has a guide price of £250–£450 each, installed and including VAT. Upgrading about ten radiators in a typical home has a guide price of £2,000–£5,000. The final price is fixed in your written quote after the survey, once the radiator schedule shows exactly which radiators change.
