Before you book: heat pump servicing in Llangollen
A heat pump that is serviced and set up properly keeps running efficiently for many years. Many heat pump faults trace back to settings, low pressure or a worn part rather than the heat pump itself, and those can usually be put right.
If a heat pump in Llangollen has not been serviced for a while, the first visit includes a full check of settings and pressures. Service visits in Llangollen include unvented cylinder safety checks alongside the heat pump itself.
An annual service keeps a heat pump running efficiently, catches small faults early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Heat pumps a year or more past installation
- Systems where the manufacturer's warranty requires annual servicing
- Homes where running costs have crept up or rooms feel cooler than before
What's included
- Cleaning of the outdoor unit coil, fan area and condensate drain
- Glycol or antifreeze protection test where fitted
- A dated service record for your warranty and property files
- Controls and error log check, with settings adjusted where needed
- Unvented cylinder safety checks and legionella cycle check
We service heat pumps in Llangollen whoever installed them, including monobloc and split systems.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in Wales
In Wales the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (£9,000 if it replaces oil or LPG, from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027; £2,500 for air-to-air). The MCS-certified installer named in your quote applies to Ofgem for you, and the grant comes off your Llangollen quote.

Llangollen has about 7 hours 34 minutes of daylight at midwinter and 16 hours 56 minutes at midsummer. That swing matters if you pair a heat pump with solar panels: summer generation can cover much of the hot water, winter generation far less.

Heat pump servicing in Llangollen: questions
How much does a visit cost in Llangollen?
The rate for a service or fault-finding visit is agreed before anyone attends. Any repair is priced in writing before parts are ordered, so you decide before work goes ahead.
What should I check before booking a visit in Llangollen?
Note any error code on the controller, check the system pressure gauge if you have one, and make sure the outdoor unit is clear of leaves or snow. Photos of the unit and controller help.
Do you also cover Rhosllannerchrugog?
Yes. We arrange heat pump servicing and repairs in Rhosllannerchrugog, which is about 6 miles north-east of Llangollen, and across Clwyd.
Is servicing needed to keep my warranty valid?
Often, yes. Many manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a dated record, and some extended warranties require an approved installer. Manufacturer warranties pass to you, and the length depends on the make and model. Check your warranty documents, and keep every service record safe with your MCS certificate and handover pack.
What does a heat pump service not include?
A service covers inspection, cleaning, testing and adjustment. It does not include replacement parts, major repairs, system flushing or radiator changes, which are quoted separately if needed. If the engineer finds a fault, they explain what it is, what it would cost to fix and whether it needs doing now or can wait.
