Heat pump servicing for Leyland homes
Whoever installed your heat pump, aftercare can be arranged in Leyland. Tell us the make and model and roughly how old it is, and we will set out what the visit involves before you book.
If a heat pump in Leyland has not been serviced for a while, the first visit includes a full check of settings and pressures. Heat pumps in Leyland that sit near trees or hedges often need their outdoor coil cleared of leaves at the annual service.
An annual service keeps a heat pump running efficiently, catches small faults early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Homes where running costs have crept up or rooms feel cooler than before
- Landlords who need dated service records for each property
- Heat pumps installed by another company that need a new servicing arrangement
What's included
- Expansion vessel, pressure relief and water quality checks
- Cleaning of the outdoor unit coil, fan area and condensate drain
- A dated service record for your warranty and property files
- Unvented cylinder safety checks and legionella cycle check
- Glycol or antifreeze protection test where fitted
Homes in Leyland and across Lancashire can book servicing at a time of year that suits them, ideally before winter.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in England
In England the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (£9,000 if it replaces oil or LPG, from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027), and since 28 April 2026 a valid EPC is no longer needed. The grant is applied for by the MCS-certified installer and shown as a deduction on your Leyland quote.

Heat pump servicing in Leyland: questions
How often should a heat pump in Leyland be serviced?
Once a year is the usual recommendation, and many manufacturers make annual servicing a condition of the warranty. Check your warranty terms for the exact requirement.
What should I check before booking a visit in Leyland?
Note any error code on the controller, check the system pressure gauge if you have one, and make sure the outdoor unit is clear of leaves or snow. Photos of the unit and controller help.
Do you also cover Chorley?
Yes. We arrange heat pump servicing and repairs in Chorley, which is about 4 miles south-east of Leyland, and across Lancashire.
What does a heat pump service not include?
A service covers inspection, cleaning, testing and adjustment. It does not include replacement parts, major repairs, system flushing or radiator changes, which are quoted separately if needed. If the engineer finds a fault, they explain what it is, what it would cost to fix and whether it needs doing now or can wait.
How much does a heat pump service cost?
An annual heat pump service has a guide price of £120–£250, including VAT. Where your price sits depends on the type of system, whether it is a split system needing refrigerant checks and whether an unvented cylinder is included. Any parts or repairs found during the service are explained and priced before any work goes ahead.
