Heat pump servicing for Petworth homes
A heat pump that is serviced and set up properly keeps running efficiently for many years. Many heat pump faults trace back to settings, low pressure or a worn part rather than the heat pump itself, and those can usually be put right.
We service heat pumps in Petworth whoever installed them, including monobloc and split systems. Heat pumps in Petworth that sit near trees or hedges often need their outdoor coil cleared of leaves at the annual service.
An annual service keeps a heat pump running efficiently, catches small faults early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Homes where running costs have crept up or rooms feel cooler than before
- Landlords who need dated service records for each property
- Systems where the manufacturer's warranty requires annual servicing
What's included
- Unvented cylinder safety checks and legionella cycle check
- A dated service record for your warranty and property files
- Glycol or antifreeze protection test where fitted
- Controls and error log check, with settings adjusted where needed
- Cleaning of the outdoor unit coil, fan area and condensate drain
Service visits in Petworth include unvented cylinder safety checks alongside the heat pump itself.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in England
In England the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (£9,000 if it replaces oil or LPG, from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027), and since 28 April 2026 a valid EPC is no longer needed. The grant is applied for by the MCS-certified installer and shown as a deduction on your Petworth quote.

Designing for Petworth's winters
On the shortest day Petworth gets about 7 hours 55 minutes of daylight, and the winter sun reaches only around 16° above the horizon at noon. Winters this far south are milder than in most of the UK, which helps a heat pump run at low flow temperatures for much of the season.

Heat pump servicing in Petworth: questions
How often should a heat pump in Petworth be serviced?
Once a year is the usual recommendation, and many manufacturers make annual servicing a condition of the warranty. Check your warranty terms for the exact requirement.
How much does a visit cost in Petworth?
The rate for a service or fault-finding visit is agreed before anyone attends. Any repair is priced in writing before parts are ordered, so you decide before work goes ahead.
Can you work on a heat pump in Petworth that someone else installed?
Yes. We arrange servicing and repairs for most air source heat pumps in Petworth, whoever fitted them. Tell us the make and model when you get in touch.
What does a heat pump service not include?
A service covers inspection, cleaning, testing and adjustment. It does not include replacement parts, major repairs, system flushing or radiator changes, which are quoted separately if needed. If the engineer finds a fault, they explain what it is, what it would cost to fix and whether it needs doing now or can wait.
How much does a heat pump service cost?
An annual heat pump service has a guide price of £120–£250, including VAT. Where your price sits depends on the type of system, whether it is a split system needing refrigerant checks and whether an unvented cylinder is included. Any parts or repairs found during the service are explained and priced before any work goes ahead.
