Heat pump servicing for Tiverton homes
Whoever installed your heat pump, aftercare can be arranged in Tiverton. Tell us the make and model and roughly how old it is, and we will set out what the visit involves before you book.
Homes in Tiverton and across Devon can book servicing at a time of year that suits them, ideally before winter. Landlords in Tiverton can arrange servicing for several properties, with a dated record for each.
An annual service keeps a heat pump running efficiently, catches small faults early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Homes where running costs have crept up or rooms feel cooler than before
- Landlords who need dated service records for each property
- Heat pumps a year or more past installation
What's included
- A dated service record for your warranty and property files
- Magnetic filter and strainer clean, with system pressure topped up
- Refrigerant circuit checks on split systems by an F-gas certified engineer
- Unvented cylinder safety checks and legionella cycle check
- Glycol or antifreeze protection test where fitted
Heat pumps in Tiverton that sit near trees or hedges often need their outdoor coil cleared of leaves at the annual service.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in England
In England the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (£9,000 if it replaces oil or LPG, from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027), and since 28 April 2026 a valid EPC is no longer needed. The grant is applied for by the MCS-certified installer and shown as a deduction on your Tiverton quote.

Designing for Tiverton's winters
On the shortest day Tiverton gets about 7 hours 56 minutes of daylight, and the winter sun reaches only around 16° above the horizon at noon. Winters this far south are milder than in most of the UK, which helps a heat pump run at low flow temperatures for much of the season.

Heat pump servicing in Tiverton: questions
Can you work on a heat pump in Tiverton that someone else installed?
Yes. We arrange servicing and repairs for most air source heat pumps in Tiverton, whoever fitted them. Tell us the make and model when you get in touch.
Do you also cover Crediton?
Yes. We arrange heat pump servicing and repairs in Crediton, which is about 11 miles south-west of Tiverton, and across Devon.
What should I check before booking a visit in Tiverton?
Note any error code on the controller, check the system pressure gauge if you have one, and make sure the outdoor unit is clear of leaves or snow. Photos of the unit and controller help.
What does a heat pump service not include?
A service covers inspection, cleaning, testing and adjustment. It does not include replacement parts, major repairs, system flushing or radiator changes, which are quoted separately if needed. If the engineer finds a fault, they explain what it is, what it would cost to fix and whether it needs doing now or can wait.
Is servicing needed to keep my warranty valid?
Often, yes. Many manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a dated record, and some extended warranties require an approved installer. Manufacturer warranties pass to you, and the length depends on the make and model. Check your warranty documents, and keep every service record safe with your MCS certificate and handover pack.
