Heat pump servicing in Hampshire

Air source heat pump installation, servicing and repairs across Hampshire: free home surveys for installation enquiries, guide prices online and fixed written quotes.

Annual servicing is recommended for all heat pumps, and many manufacturers make it a condition of their warranty. A service record also helps if you sell the home or need to make a warranty claim. The service is a paid visit with a guide price of £120–£250, including VAT, and the price for your system is confirmed when you book.

If a heat pump in Hampshire has not been serviced for a while, the first visit includes a full check of settings and pressures. We service heat pumps in Hampshire whoever installed them, including monobloc and split systems. Landlords in Hampshire can arrange servicing for several properties, with a dated record for each.

Who it suits

  • Heat pumps a year or more past installation
  • Homes where running costs have crept up or rooms feel cooler than before
  • Systems where the manufacturer's warranty requires annual servicing
  • Landlords who need dated service records for each property

In England the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (£9,000 if it replaces oil or LPG, from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027), and since 28 April 2026 a valid EPC is no longer needed. Heat pump servicing questions

Is servicing needed to keep my warranty valid?

Often, yes. Many manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a dated record, and some extended warranties require an approved installer. Manufacturer warranties pass to you, and the length depends on the make and model. Check your warranty documents, and keep every service record safe with your MCS certificate and handover pack.

What does a heat pump service not include?

A service covers inspection, cleaning, testing and adjustment. It does not include replacement parts, major repairs, system flushing or radiator changes, which are quoted separately if needed. If the engineer finds a fault, they explain what it is, what it would cost to fix and whether it needs doing now or can wait.

Can you service a split system?

Yes. Split systems have refrigerant pipes running between the outdoor unit and an indoor unit, and checks on that refrigerant circuit must be done by an F-gas certified engineer. We arrange the service so a suitably certified engineer attends. The water side, controls and cylinder are checked in the same visit, just as on a monobloc system.

How often should a heat pump be serviced?

Once a year is the usual recommendation for air source heat pumps, and many manufacturers require it as a warranty condition. An annual visit cleans filters and strainers, checks pressures and controls, and tests the unvented cylinder's safety devices. If you notice a drop in performance, unusual noises or repeated error codes between services, arrange a visit sooner.
