Heat pump servicing for Reigate homes
Aftercare matters as much as installation. For a heat pump in Reigate the visit checks the outdoor unit, the water circuit and the controls, and the engineer explains any settings that would help the system run more efficiently.
If a heat pump in Reigate has not been serviced for a while, the first visit includes a full check of settings and pressures. We service heat pumps in Reigate whoever installed them, including monobloc and split systems.
An annual service keeps a heat pump running efficiently, catches small faults early and is often a condition of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Homes where running costs have crept up or rooms feel cooler than before
- Landlords who need dated service records for each property
- Heat pumps installed by another company that need a new servicing arrangement
What's included
- Magnetic filter and strainer clean, with system pressure topped up
- Refrigerant circuit checks on split systems by an F-gas certified engineer
- A dated service record for your warranty and property files
- Unvented cylinder safety checks and legionella cycle check
- Cleaning of the outdoor unit coil, fan area and condensate drain
Landlords in Reigate can arrange servicing for several properties, with a dated record for each.
Grants and rules for heat pumps in England
In England the Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives £7,500 towards an air source heat pump (£9,000 if it replaces oil or LPG, from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027), and since 28 April 2026 a valid EPC is no longer needed. The grant is applied for by the MCS-certified installer and shown as a deduction on your Reigate quote.

Designing for Reigate's winters
On the shortest day Reigate gets about 7 hours 52 minutes of daylight, and the winter sun reaches only around 15° above the horizon at noon. Winters this far south are milder than in most of the UK, which helps a heat pump run at low flow temperatures for much of the season.

Heat pump servicing in Reigate: questions
What should I check before booking a visit in Reigate?
Note any error code on the controller, check the system pressure gauge if you have one, and make sure the outdoor unit is clear of leaves or snow. Photos of the unit and controller help.
How much does a visit cost in Reigate?
The rate for a service or fault-finding visit is agreed before anyone attends. Any repair is priced in writing before parts are ordered, so you decide before work goes ahead.
Can you work on a heat pump in Reigate that someone else installed?
Yes. We arrange servicing and repairs for most air source heat pumps in Reigate, whoever fitted them. Tell us the make and model when you get in touch.
How often should a heat pump be serviced?
Once a year is the usual recommendation for air source heat pumps, and many manufacturers require it as a warranty condition. An annual visit cleans filters and strainers, checks pressures and controls, and tests the unvented cylinder's safety devices. If you notice a drop in performance, unusual noises or repeated error codes between services, arrange a visit sooner.
How much does a heat pump service cost?
An annual heat pump service has a guide price of £120–£250, including VAT. Where your price sits depends on the type of system, whether it is a split system needing refrigerant checks and whether an unvented cylinder is included. Any parts or repairs found during the service are explained and priced before any work goes ahead.
