We service systems installed through us and systems fitted by other companies, including monobloc and split units. If your heat pump was installed by someone else, tell us the make, model and age when you book so the engineer brings the right parts and information. Refrigerant work on split systems must be done by an F-gas certified engineer.

Grants and rules for heat pumps in Scotland
In Scotland, heat pump funding comes through Home Energy Scotland rather than the Boiler Upgrade Scheme: a grant of up to £7,500 (up to £1,500 extra for eligible rural and island homes) and an optional interest-free loan of up to £7,500. Heat pump servicing questions
Do I need to do anything between services?
A little. Keep the area around the outdoor unit clear of leaves, snow, plants and stored items so air flows freely. Check the system pressure gauge occasionally if you have one, and note any error codes. Avoid covering the unit or building an enclosure around it without advice, as this can reduce performance.
What does a heat pump service not include?
A service covers inspection, cleaning, testing and adjustment. It does not include replacement parts, major repairs, system flushing or radiator changes, which are quoted separately if needed. If the engineer finds a fault, they explain what it is, what it would cost to fix and whether it needs doing now or can wait.
Is servicing needed to keep my warranty valid?
Often, yes. Many manufacturer warranties require an annual service with a dated record, and some extended warranties require an approved installer. Manufacturer warranties pass to you, and the length depends on the make and model. Check your warranty documents, and keep every service record safe with your MCS certificate and handover pack.
How much does a heat pump service cost?
An annual heat pump service has a guide price of £120–£250, including VAT. Where your price sits depends on the type of system, whether it is a split system needing refrigerant checks and whether an unvented cylinder is included. Any parts or repairs found during the service are explained and priced before any work goes ahead.
